When The Name of MISS KARISHMA LAMBA has been announced in the Function of Miss Deaf International in the famous, Hotel of Glamour’s City of Las Vegas – America. There was a record in the History of India. From the whole world, forty five Deaf Beauty Queens had arrived out of which the twelve ladies, have been shortlisted in the Final Round. Miss Karishma Lamba of Ahmedabad achieved the second position in the List of “Top Ten” contestants. This has been materialized due to sound support and encouragement as well as counselling by “Mook Badhir Mandal” of Vadodara.
The destination captured by Karishma Lamba as a challenge despite the shortcoming given by nature - deafness, is the indication of changing Portrait of India.
Miss Karishma Lamba is the shining example of “Nari sanman” and “Equal Rights” for all types of Human Beings in India.
The main organizers of “Miss Deaf International” Bonita Leeke has delivered a prestigious speech for India and Outstanding Performance of Miss Karishma Lamba. She has praised the Performance of Miss Karishma Lamba. Seven Judges of Final Round had been so much impressed by the presentation and performances of “Karishma” that they could not stop themselves in knowing in depth, the Heritage and Culture of India.
One of the Judges asked for the intention for participation in these types of contest. At that time Miss Karishma Lamba has replied that it is a victory by itself to represent India, in this type of world class competition so "it is not a competition for me but a matter of pride for my Nation” she said.
When she was asked for the “Lifetime settlement," she replied with pride that she would like to settle in her “Motherland Gujarat.”
The crown of Miss International has been awarded to Miss France.
Miss South Africa has been awarded as Miss Deaf International Runners up.
After that there was an Announcement of Top Ten Contestants, in which Miss Mexico has been declared as First Lady while Miss Karishma Lamba of Gujarat has been announced as “Miss Second” Deaf International.
